| Our Community Towns County is located in the southern region of the Appalachian Mountains. There are two main towns located within the county, Hiawassee, the county seat, and Young Harris. Hiawassee is the home of Brasstown Bald, Georgia’s highest point of elevation at 4,784 feet, the famous Georgia Mountain Fair, and beautiful Lake Chatuge; all of which make Hiawassee a favorite vacation site for many visitors. Young Harris is the proud home of Young Harris College, and both Brasstown Valley Resort and The Ridges Resort.
