About TCS Art Program:
Towns County Schools now offer art in the elementary, middle, and high school. The art program prides itself on creating a curriculum that keeps students engaged no matter their skill level or age by allowing them to experiment with all forms of art. In all of Towns County's art classrooms, students get to use paint, clay, printmaking, and papier-mache every year in order to produce well rounded artists.
Starting in the elementary school students take art once a week and are given a knowledge of artists and movements throughout history and create works based on the masters. The middle school program is offered as an elective, and students can choose to take it or not; students that choose to take art are able to do so from 6-8 grade. These classes build upon their knowledge of art history and begin making a personal connection to who they are as an artist. The high school art students have the ability to complete a pathway in art by taking three or more art classes. The program helps to prepare students that are planning on attending college for the arts by creating a portfolio with a range in media and a knowledge of art history.

Art Show:
The Towns County Art Program holds an annual art show in the elementary school gym in the month of April. The show displays work from students in the Elementary, Middle, and High school art classes. Come out and support the artists by purchasing some work and enjoying the gallery.
